Finally, the Mission FireFly Forums are live, though in beta. Please register and take them for a spin. You can access them at http://www.missionfirefly.com/forum. We’re gradually going through the existing pages on MissionFireFly.com and adding the direct link to the forum in the top navigational bar.
Obviously, there’s barely any content on them right now, so your work is laid out for you! If you run into any problems whatsoever or have any kind of suggestions or feedback, please let us know.
Thanks a million!

You’ll notice that all recent submissions to MF are under the new page format which includes a comment box dedicated specifically to that author. That same comment box (and any comments submitted to it) will then appear under that author’s artwork, stories, devotionals, poems, etc.
Now, here’s the challenge for you. Everyone loves to see that someone left a positive, encouraging comment about one of their poems or stories or photos. While it’s easy to sit back and then check your creative pages once or more each day to see if any new comments are there, let’s flip things around. How about, instead of hoping that others will encourage you and make you feel all warm and fuzzy, you be proactive and do as Christ would do and set aside any worries you might have about what others think about the latest poem you submitted and go out there on a mission to encourage others to continue honing their God given skills and to use them for His glory?
Wow — that’s a long sentence! Here’s the short twitter version of it: Make it a mission to visit a couple pages each day and leave encouraging, God honoring comments.
It’s a way that you can have an impact on others’ lives. You never know what kind of day that person might be having. You never know if that person is a believer in Christ, His death on the cross, and His promises. You never know what kind of impact you might be able to have through a couple positive words written.
So be brave and determine to encourage at least someone every day.

We’re experimenting with a new page layout. You can see it at
Aussie’s short story, Lord Dyrant’s Revenge
Amy from Alberta, Canada’s poetry page
Amy from Alberta, Canada’s art page
In time, we’ll be gradually converting the bulk of the content pages to this. The About Us pages are complete and will keep the existing styling. The home page is very much in the raw (we’re still working on how we want it to look & what information will be displayed there) as are the “home pages” for poetry, art/photography, devotionals, stories, etc. Stay tuned and you might be surprised someday when you visit the site!
If you’ve got strong feelings either way about the new page layout, please leave us a comment on this blog post. Thanks!

Just a heads up that we’re gradually adding a comments feature to more popular poem & story posts. If you are interested in having this feature added to your page, just let us know by either filling out our contact form or leaving a comment on this blog post.
To see an example of what the comments feature looks like, visit the popular short story Lord Dyrant’s Revenge. As it’s kind of a tedious thing to do on our part, we probably won’t be able to add it to every poem and story. But again, if it’s something you want for your page(s), just let us know.
Thanks!

We’ve got some great news for those of you who’ve been begging and begging Aussie to come back to MF. Well, good and bad. We’ll throw you the bad first and save the tasty for last.
Bad: Aussie still gives his “no comment” when we asked him if he’ll continue his Afterthoughts story. He started writing Afterthoughts a while back right before the MF site was hacked. Oh well … We tried
Good: Aussie did say he wants to start a new continuing story that may even go through the summer. We’re going to set up a special page for him where he can log in and add/modify his story whenever he needs to.
And, if any of you creative writers out there who have that knack for continuing stories, please drop us a line! For those of you who are still in the dark about “continuing stories,” it’s where a writer submits a couple paragraphs usually a couple times a week – as in the “next installment” of the story. Continuing stories can go on and on and on, but should someday (hint: Aussie) be completed otherwise it just become torturious (is that a word?) to us readers. And, we actually have a new continuing story contest which is opening up the beginning of next month (May) as long as we have enough people to kick it off with. If you’re interested, here are the continuing story contest rules as well as the contest entry form.
So … go Aussie, and for everyone else, keep on the lookout. He hasn’t told us yet what the story’s title will be.
