Touching Heaven ... Changing Earth?
You stand up,
And they crown you a hero
For the many you’ve shown ‘The Way.’
For the life you’ve lived of example
Following Him from day to day
But do they see the ones you missed
The ones you just ‘didn’t see’
‘I’m not the man for that job God,
Choose somebody else… not me.’
But everyone God speaks to,
Answers as you do…
Who else is there to do the job?
And why did God ask you?
You say you want to reach the youth,
And you look around and say,
‘Look at all the believers here’
But have you bothered with those who stray
Have you reached out further than these 4 walls?
In which high standards you set.
Let me remind you of those who don’t ‘do’ church…
Least we might forget.
The ones who don’t do cell groups,
The ones who just want to play,
They’re the most important,
Don’t let them slip away.
Start working here with your church,
Turn out your disciples today,
There are many that need to hear the word,
Bring home the lambs that stray.
Go to the ones who need it most,
They avoid it like the plague…
They need to hear it right here, right now…
Now’s the time to be brave.
The time has come to make a move,
History whispers through a tree…
It’s time to reach out to ALL the youth,
Let’s set the captives free.
Let’s reach beyond our comfort zones,
To the ones who need us more,
To the ones who to church and look inside
And turn away at the door.
The ones who stay away altogether
Feeling that they just won’t fit in,
They’re not perfect like the rest of us,
They still slip and sin.
The ones who just don’t care,
The ones who are there for the ride,
Sooner or late, and hopefully soon,
They’ll realize they can no longer hide.
So let’s step out of out churches and cells,
And search for those who don’t give a dam,
Let’s reach out to them and love them in,
Let’s bring home the little lost lamb.
The time is coming closer,
The harvest is many but workers are few.
If you’re not the man just right for the job…
