A Poem by Chelsea

We Plead

Fearless eyes make for comfort lacking
Tears in the corner seek shelter from cold
We cry out, our song not directed toward moon, nor goddess, nor spirit
We cry for Thee, together, we cry for Thee
Oh, my Lord, we cry for Thee
For the cracks of desertion
For pain of birth
For thine labor thy hath humbly submitted
We come together and rehearse
For fears of starvation, of drought
Creator, we have come
On our knees
We come
Heads bowed, hands clasped
We come
I pray You, hear our sorrowful song
We weep, my Lord, we sob
Bring Your rain that it might mask our tears
Oh, my God, we are so in need of Your grace
Carry us home
Thy mercy is sweet, Thy love is pure, Thy reign everlasting
Our sorrowful howling shall cease as song is raised to meet Thine ear
Oh, my God, we cry out to Thee
Save us as only You can do
