What is God?
God is love
Holding us close and tight
God is forgiveness
When we do something wrong
God is Holy
He will not tolerate any sin
God is mercy
Grace even when we don’t deserve
God is jealous
So we must worship Him alone
God is creative
He put this universe together
God is capable
We can put all our trust in Him
God is honest
He will keep his every promise
God is approachable
He accepts us for who we are
God is knowable
So we may be close to Him
God is our Lord
And forever he will be.
Never Forget
Loss
Is that what
This feeling was?
A wound
Forever
Carved into my heart
Maybe just a tiny cut
Or bruise
That won’t even bleed
Or maybe it’s a long, deep gash
Aching, painful
And raw
I’m not really sure
Of anything
Anymore
I only know that
Whatever this hurt is
It can never again
Be fully healed
A permanent scar
That leaves
Its lifelong mark
A part of me
Gone
That I can never again
Replace
Or find
Without them
Something’s missing
I feel incomplete
Not whole,
But torn apart
Their absence leaves
A dark bottomless void
Full of questions
But not
A single answer
I’m sure
That this
Too
Can never again
Be completely filled
Like before
I hope
Someday
The hurt will lessen
Fade into
The deepest chambers of my heart
But not disappear
Because if it does
Vanish
Like nothing
Ever happened
I will not remember
The fight
Will have been
In vain
And the regret after
Will have been pointless
So my wish
From the bottom
Of this heart
That is not perfect
Yet refuses to break
Is that we will
Never forget
The hurt and anger
The tears that were
Our mistakes
Never forget
That every decision
Made
Comes with
A consequence
And never forget
That friendships
Are miracles
Too important
To take for granted
I know this truth now
But “now” is too late
I cannot go back in time
What’s done is done
And cannot be changed
No one should have
To feel the guilt
That was mine
So please
Listen:
Some
Friendships
Will
Not
Last
Forever
Treasure and hold close
The bonds you have now
Cherish every moment
Of laughter and joy
Etch them into your memory
Into your very essence
And always
Always
Always
Remember
To never forget.
