What You’ve Done

When I am weak, you are strong,
When I give up, you carry me on.
When I lose my patience, you steady me,
When I am blind, I trust you to see.

You are the way, the truth, the life.
You are there in the darkness; You give me Your light.
You bore my stripes, You took my pain,
You suffered the loss so I could gain.

Carrying the cross, you conquered sin,
Carrying me till my crown I win.
Carrying me through this hellish world,
Carrying me His banner, unfurled.

There is no condemnation for those who believe.
There is life and redemption for those on their knees.
There is the temptation that could lead you astray,
There is His blessed promise that no one can sway.

Remember His faithfulness, how He still is true,
Remember His love that will lead you on through.
Remember why He died, why he made the sacrifice,
Remember what He did, just so you could have life.

Love at First Sight

Some people say there is love at first sight,
But I think they are crazy, they need to think.
How can you love someone in just a blink?
Is it really love, well how do they know?
I mean is it possible to love someone you met a minute ago?
But still many guys get googely eyed,
Thinking that the woman they see may be their bride.
Maybe we can blame it on a cupid’s arrow, or the love bug’s bite.
But that seems stupid, unintelligent, and blind
Absurd and obnoxious, senseless, unbelievable.
When obsession sets in, takes over their mind,
Everything starts going haywire; it’s inconceivable.
So don’t get caught in that same old grind,
Instead watch their character, it’s much more reliable.

To my mother...what ARE YOU ANYWAYS?!

I'm trying to decipher what you are,
But I don't want to decide on something too bizarre.
But this is my quest, my life long journey,
So, please excuse me if it gets a bit loony.

You have no relation to a moth,
A fat cat, a koala or sloth.
You definitely aren't a snake,
Because, come on, that's one of the things you really hate.
A penguin! Could that be it?
No, 'cause they are too fat for you I must admit.
I've GOT IT, AN ELEPHANT SEAL!
No...never mind, that is NOT ideal.

Mother mother, why is this so hard?
Oh why didn't I just stick to a simple card?

Are you a cheetah, panther, or wild cat?
Nah, that couldn't be, you're to civil for that.
Hmm, a bumble bee, or how 'bout a spider?
Or a wasp, kangaroo, or no! A water strider!
A husky dog, a polar bear?
Oh man...if you are that, BEWARE!

None of those seemed to fit you though,
And it looks like I'm back where I started a half hour ago...

Alright Mom, let's hear it straight.
Cause this answer is the thing I await.
By elimination now I know,
That you aren't any animal, nope, not even a doe.
Instead you are my mother, who I love a lot,
And you are worth more to me that a yacht.
The whole world couldn't compare,
Nope, I wouldn't trade you to be a millionaire.
Because I only have one mother,
And I would NEVER want another,
To take, the place, of you.
