Searching For Jehovah

I caught a glimpse of Jehovah once,
Through the keyhole of my eye.
And then I blinked and looked again,
But He was nowhere nigh.

One morn I walked amidst a garden
To breath in wildish air,
When I thought I saw Angel’s wings;
No, a daisy bed fair.

At noon I shattered the pools of rain
That a storm had left behind.
I spied a cross mirrored within
And turned–a tree, enshrined.

The sun sank and slowly died away.
The stars awoke so all could see.
But in my heart a something dawned...
That Moon smiled down on me.

I know I saw Jehovah that day,
Through the keyhole of my eye.
And though I blink and look again,
I know He stays nearby.
