The Boy Whose Faith Has Diminished
When all hope is gone
When we feel all alone
When we think of the worst
And the times it hurts the most
There’s a voice calling through
A voice that brings healing
But we push it away
And we’re left alone facing the pain
As the tear drops stain my page
I pray for the boy whose faith has diminished.
As I cry my heart out
And I pray for direction
My soul is fulfilled
And my heart resurrected
I tell you to start believing
Please start seeking
For someone cares for you
There is a person hoping
A person praying
A person who believes
For if you look close
You’ll see what matters the most
The key...
As we looked at His hands
There was blood
As we looked at His head
There were bruises and scars
As we looked at His feet
There were holes
As we looked at His face
We froze
Such anguish. Such torture.
Yet there was something……something…
A look of compassion as He looked straight at you
For He knew the struggle you were going through
And in that split second He said “I’m doing this for you.”
As we stood there just watching
I noticed that every sickness, every disease was on Him
I knew He was doing it for you
I knew this was all He would do in His love for you
As we stood still watching death came upon the man
As I fell to my knees crying
I saw that you were still standing
As you knelt next to me you told me there was something more
Surely it wouldn’t end like this
There had to be more
As I remembered
My smile returned
As I remembered
My spirit yearned
As I remembered
I told you to look
For out of the grave came the man
He came toward us
Walking slowly
With a face of joy. Compassion.
As I watched He came toward you
With a voice like no other He said, “I took it for you. Every stripe every beating.
Everything without a doubt.
When that Cancer was put on me, it was you who was on my mind.
I took it so that you wouldn’t have to suffer.
I suffered
And it was for you”
Then everything disappeared
It was normal I feared
But then I saw you and my thoughts faded away
I knew….
……knew……
That this was no longer a boy whose faith had diminished.
