Love
Love, what are you?
Beautiful and sweet
With no need to compete,
Steadfast, pure, and true.
Love, you’re a mystery!
The feelings you give
Help me to live,
And you’ve been around for all of history.
Love, so delightful,
The peace you bring,
It makes my heart sing.
Oh love that will not crawl away in the night.
Oh love, what a beautiful sight!
All of my days, to you will I cling.
The Life of Esther
A Persian, King Xerxes, ruled long ago.
He loved to throw parties and put on a big show.
So he called his Queen, Vashti, to join him at eight.
Her refusal to come left him completely irate!
Therefore Vashti was his Queen no more
Xerxes wanted a Queen that he, she would adore.
After searching the kingdom, only one seemed right.
A Jew named Esther, who made him feel bright.
Now King Xerxes loved Queen Esther very much,
So he gave her a crown, a pretty dress, and such.
But soon Haman’s plot began to brew
He sought to annihilate all of the Jews.
With the stroke of a pen the law was passed.
An edict went out and everyone gasped!
Queen Esther’s Uncle, Mordecai, grieved the news
And told the Queen, “We have no time to loose!”
The news made Queen Esther much afraid,
So she fasted, prayed, and a plan was made.
For Xerxes and Haman a banquet she’d hold.
Although she was frightened, she knew she had to be bold.
The banquet started with good rapport,
But ended with Xerxes storming out the door!
Haman’s evil plot had been revealed,
And Xerxes knew the edict bore his seal.
But do not worry, do not fret;
Our story is not over yet.
The Jews belonged to the God above,
And He was watching over Hid beloved.
To the gallows Haman went,
And soon a new letter would be sent,
Now the Jews could rise and fight
With God on their side it will be alright.
So Xerxes kingdom was now at rest,
And his Queen Esther felt very blessed.
