Submit Your Creative Works


Important Submission News (please read! new as of May 25, 2009)

Due to the volume of submissions we receive and because Mission FireFly is fully operated by a small volunteer team, we have the following new submission policies in place.

New Contributors

If you are a new contributor and would like your work to be considered for publishing on your own profile/portfolio page, please do the following:

  1. Register in the new MF Forums
  2. Post at least two of your creative works in the MF Forums
  3. Submit a third creative work (your best) to us via the submission form below

We will then view your creative works you posted on the MF Forum as well as the creative work you submitted to us and, based on the quality of your work in comparison with your age level, we may choose to publish your creative work live on a profile/portfolio page we set up for you. If we do choose to publish your work, we will let you know by email. In the event we do not choose to publish your creative work, we encourage you to continue posting your works in the MF Forums and then try submitting a higher quality creative work to us again via the submission form below. If your work is not chosen, we regret that we are unable to email you informing you of such.

Existing Contributors

If you are an existing contributor and would like additional works to be considered for publishing on your profile/portfolio page, please do the following:

  1. Register in the new MF Forums
  2. Be an active participant in the forums (at least 2 posts per week)
  3. Submit your best creative works to us via the submission form below

The MF Forums are an excellent place to post your lesser quality creative works while your profile/portfolio pages should be reserved for posting your best quality works. When you submit your works to us, as an existing contributor, we'll selectively choose the best for publishing, giving greater weight to those who are the most active in the MF Forums. In other words, the more active you are in the forums, the greater priority we'll place on publishing your creative works.

Submission Limits

To help prevent our volunteer web team from being overburdened and to help ensure the quality of the content on the site, we are setting the following submission limits per user per week: 3 works of art (includes photos; no more than 2 MB per file, please); 3 poems; 1 completed story; 3 devotionals. If you have a continuing story, you can submit updates whenever you want. A MF team member will review your submissions and notify you by email if any of your submissions have been chosen to be featured on the main Mission FireFly website.

If you join the new MF Forum (in beta currently), you can post unlimited stories, poems, devotionals, photos and other artwork instantly on the forum pages! Sign up today and post away! MF team members will be regularly "scouting" through the forums looking for exceptional creative works to feature on portfolio pages on the main website.

Publishing TimeFrame

While we try to choose & publish creative works within 24-72 hours, sometimes our staff is delayed due to the workload from our commercial work, being away on vacation, or other matters. Keep in mind that the MF team is fully volunteer. Thank you for understanding!

Be sure to read the "About the Author" spotlight information in the left side column as well as the information for "Those Under 13" if it's relevant to you.

About Us

Author Spotlight

We're now starting to include a special "About the Author" spotlight in the upper left side of the page (example); tell us a little about yourself, and we'll include that information along with your creative work. Remember, however, that the information is public so keep that in mind when you choose what to publicly post regarding yourself.

If you are under 18, it is always best to ask your parents first for permission regarding what information you should include in your "About the Author" spotlight. Regardless of what you do send us, our policy regarding those under 18 is to not post last names, email addresses, phone numbers, complete addresses (we do post city, state & country information) and other personally identifiable data.

If you are over 18, we'll post personally identifiable data in your "About the Author" spotlight if you include that in the "About the Author" form section below.

Those Under 13

If you are under 13 and would like to use Mission FireFly, there are legal rules (the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) which we must comply with to permit that to happen. If you are under 13, your parents will need to either mail (address on our contact page) or fax signed, written permission granting you to post on Mission FireFly.
